Dean Harrison emulated dad Conrad Harrison to take his first ever TT win, this week. Conrad Harrison won the first Sidecar race of the week on Monday, while Dean Harrison took a comfortable win in the one and only Lightweight race. They became the first father-son duo in TT history to both win races in the same week.
Ivan Lintin led the pack away but only made it as far as Union Mills, leaving James Hillier to lead on the road. Harrison took the lead early on and never lost it, while Hillier slotted into second with James Cowton – who impressed with two podiums in the class at the North West 200 – in third. Behind them Jamie Hamilton, Keith Amor, and Olie Linsdell occupied fourth, fifth and sixth. Dan Cooper, Michael Russell, Ryan Farquhar, and Lee Johnston rounded out the top ten at the end of the first lap.
As the race progressed, Harrison continued to eke out a lead, while Hillier maintained second over Cowton. Returnee Amor jumped ahead of Hamilton, who in turn got back in front of Linsdell. Russell and Lee Johnston retired from the race, opening up two spots in the top ten. These were then filled by Connor Behan and Michal Doukoupil, with Farquhar and Cooper ahead. Newcomers Martin Jessopp and Danny Webb impressed with finishes just outside the top ten.
