Birchall brothers win second Sidecar race at TT

The Birchall brothers overcame their disappointment from the first Sidecar race to comfortably win the second event.

They had retired from the first race while leading but had no issues as they cruised to a 38 second victory over John Holden and Andy Winkle. It was the fourth TT victory for Ben and Tom Birchall. Joining them on the podium were Tim Reeves and Patrick Farrance in third.

Dave Molyneux and Dan Sayle compounded their disappointing week with a retirement, having been forced to withdraw from the first race with technical issues. They had initially led the race before retiring on the first lap.

In fourth were Karl Bennett with passenger Lee Cain, with Matt Dix and Shaun Parker in fifth. Steve and Matty Ramsden were sixth ahead of race one podium finishers Alan Founds and Aki Aalto.

The Sidecar race was once again tinged with sadness. Following the death of Dwight Beare in race one, Ian Bell sadly lost his life in race two. Thoughts with his passenger and son Carl Bell, and his family and friends.
