Autosport International set to open doors to public

The 25th anniversary of Autosport International is well and truly underway with two trade days kicking off the action.

During Thursday and Friday over 700 companies from across the world appeared at the NEC in Birmingham. Amongst the key industry figures in attendance were M-Sport boss Malcolm Wilson, Williams F1’s Chief Technical Officer Pat Symonds and Renault Sport Technologies’ Director of Motorsport Jean-Pascal Dauce who shared their views on the Autosport Stage.

There have already been a number of launches and announcements at the show, including the reveal of Radical’s RXC Spider, the Zenos E10 S lightweight sportscar, and a GT4 version of Sin Cars’ R1. The British Touring Car Championship has also been in the spotlight with Andrew Jordan unveiling his MG which he will drive this year. Andy Priaulx announced that he is making his return to the series with West Surrey Racing, partnering Sam Tordoff. Other touring car drivers confirmed to appear on Saturday and Sunday are reigning champion Colin Turkington, Gordon Sheddon, and Matt Neal.

Fans can also get up close to the Porsche LMP1 919 Hybrid and the Renaultsport RS.01, check out 60 Years of Motorsport News and Wales Rally GB features, and inspect a special collection of Track Icons and Wild Road Cars like the Mercedes C11 and Ferrari F40 in a feature presented by Classic and Sports Car Magazine and Silverstone Classic. In action at the Live Action Arena will be Peter Solberg, and finalists from Autocar’s Britain’s Best Driver’s Cars 2014 including the Ferrari 458 Speciale, the Ariel Atom 3.5R and McLaren 650S.
