The FIA have announced the finalised Formula One calendar for 2012.

18 March – Australian GP
25 March – Malaysian GP
15 April – Chinese GP
22 April – Bahrain GP
13 May – Spanish GP
27 May – Monaco GP
10 June – Canadian GP
24 June – European GP
8 July – British GP
22 July – German GP
29 July – Hungarian GP
(Summer break)
2 September – Belgian GP
9 September – Italian GP
23 September – Singapore GP
7 October – Japanese GP
14 October – Korean GP
28 October – Indian GP
4 November – Abu Dhabi GP
18 November – US GP
25 November – Brazilian GP
Key Notes
- The Australian GP has officially been re-instated as the season opener
- Bahrain will be happening in April, and not towards the end of the season as had previously been anticipated by the teams
- Turkey has officially been dropped from the calendar
- There are seven back-to-back races:
- The US GP will be the penultimate race of the season
- The summer break is five weeks instead of four – there will be four F1-less weekends instead of three.
- There will be 20 races – up from the 19 races this season
Now all that’s left is for BBC to decide which ones they’ll broadcast live…
